Bar and restaurant serving wood-fired pizzas, steaks and a Sunday roast

It might look like a traditional old boozer, but it's as much about the food as it is the beer at this popular Surrey Quays spot. And just to make sure they're covering as many bases as possible, they offer live music and even art competitions, too.

The wood-fired pizzas are particularly popular here, with traditional margheritas and Fiorentinas alongside those with tiger prawns and chorizo, or prosciutto, mozzarella, rocket, parmesan and pear. The main restaurant menu is influenced by the Med - think crab and samphire tagliatelle, or pan-fried salmon with chorizo. A grill menu, as well as a Sunday roast, does brisk business, too.

The bar here features a solid range of beers on draught, with Peroni, Hoegaarden, Meantime Pilsner and Meantime Pale Ale complementing the bottles in the chiller. There's an accessible wine list too, as well as a selection of classic cocktails.

One of the best places in my local area and a place we frequent regularly. The pizzas are the main attraction for me, I often go for the spicy salami which always delivers! The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and the owners are very friendly and always very accommodating.

Havent been here in a while since we moved out of the area but came back this evening to see a friend. Service was great food was amazing and the whole place was buzzing on a Thursday night, I can't reccomend this place more highly.

Consistently delicious food. Sourdough pizzas: tasty base with well-balanced toppings. You haven't lived until you have tried the desserts: meringues the size of half a football & much nicer; beautifully spiced carrot cake; creamy, well flavoured ice cream, and the fudge ..... . A great neighbourhood restaurant, with regular jazz nights too. If you fancy a few drinks in the bar, that's a fun spot too.

The food is excellent they have a great range of wines and now cocktails. The ambience is fantastic and they also have Jazz nights it is a brilliant venue. The staff are very friendly and it is just a lovely place for dinner or lunch on a Sunday. They also have a veranda so if the weather is good you can sit outside.

The Yellow House is a fantastic local, with a great offering. Whether you're here for entertainment (live music), just a drink, modern european cuisine, or a pizza from their wood fired oven - there's something for a variety of occasions.

I was here for a lovely meal several weeks back, and we ordered the salmon (cooked to perfection) and the lamb, which was full of flavour. Prices are very reasonable, too - it's the perfect place to be a regular at and the staff are very welcoming.

The Yellow House is basically the only decent wine bar in Surrey Quays/Canada Water (correct me if I'm wrong, people). It's different to the pubs and other eateries in that it's definitely in the "smarter" category (without being crazy smart). Ie, it's not a chicken shop or chinese takeaway. The yellow house has the absolute friendliest owners - and the owner/chef is very talented. I've had numerous good meals in here, and can say I've especially enjoyed the pizzas - they are fantastic and are made in a proper pizza oven.

There is a small terrace outdoors which sits in the back of Southwark park almost. When I was dogsitting I took the dog in there and we ate outside. I'm always very happy to recommend the food here and I'm certainly happy that this place is in my 'hood.
