Kahve Dünyasi is a huge coffee bar chain in Turkey, with 200 stores. If you imagine Starbucks melted into a mid-range chocolatier, you're on the right track.
This first London store is heavily branded in the US way, rather than charming in the Anatolian way; but once you get over the shock of stepping into a huge café that's decorated like a chocolate box, its appeal quickly becomes obvious. It's cheap, and there are great cakes and coffees.
A long counter displays an orgy of chocolates and chocolate desserts: truffles, chocolate-coated marzipan, Turkish delights, novelty chocolates. It's all just too choc-tastic, but the ones we tried - a brownie, and a mozaic cake - were both excellent quality, and also incredibly well priced at under £3 each.
The coffees are another strong card in their hand. The Turkish coffee was strong, dark and bitter, as it should be; and the huge mug of milk coffe with salep, a thickener made from a type of orchid root that's popular in Turkey, was rich and viscous, like a good quality hot chocolate.
The sandwiches are not great, and the service was a total muddle on our visit in the first fortnight. But with prices like this, great coffee and cakes and a location so close to Piccadilly Circus, we didn't see anyone complaining.

Great place, great food, gorgeous coffee, plenty of space, and caramel cake it's just a heaven. Shame that it;'s in London only. Definately will pop everytime I will visit London.
Still a bit chaotic on my visit two days ago but the chocolates we bought we GORGEOUS and not really expensive. Coffee a delight, if Turkish coffee is what you want. Food could be better - a bit bland. But overall I liked the atmosphere and look forward to breakfast there when I'm in town.
We did not even have a chance to taste anything in there. Lack of organisation of the manager at the shop on 15th January 2011 caused a bit of a mayhem in there and funny enough as customer, we were blamed to cause that by the manager. We Turks @ Europe should learn to show same level of customer care and respect as they do in Turkey. Hope management in Turkey realises that quick enough to change the attitude problem in Piccadily Circus. If not, Kahve Dunyasi will another "Coffee Shop without soul" and nowhere near good enough to represent my country.
If you want a break from the same sort of cafe style places and a great Turkish Coffee in a nice environment then this is a nice place to go... Enjoy...
I just love this place! It's heaven for chocoholic with an amazing selection at a great price. Love the macaroons...you can't beat the rose flavour and I simply adore the packaging. It is now my favourite place in London. Nice and friendly staff and great coffee...try the kalep: it is yummi
No stars at all, don't waste your money there!!! Boring food, crap service, average coffee" should be their slogan!
The chocolate in this shop is a-b-s-o-l-u-t-e-l-y amazing and I'm a self confessed chocoholic. I was also a costumer when it first opened, and understand it was going through some initial teething problems but the shop got busier and busier, esp over Christmas and most of the staff were always friendly and eager to help. They offer great samples by the till too!
It's not the place to go for big hearty lunch or dinner but they do great snacks and.... amazing chocolate, coffee, desserts and lighter meals. I, and my entire office, are big fans.
Us Turks introduced coffee to Europe and now to London as well!
Combined with great food ,price and Turkish hospitality a place of must for anyone that has visited Turkey and remembers the good food!
A little part of Anadolu hospitality on the Piccadilly !
Well done kahve dunyasi!
