A grubby awning still says 'Truva Turkish brasserie'. Pink, upholstered, high-backed chairs and sizeable round tables speak of a possible former life as a Chinese restaurant. But the book-length menu is unequivocally Japanese, offering countless permutations of the standards interspersed with many a full-colour snapshot. Sushi/sashimi sets range from five slices of salmon for £7 to a wooden boatload of assorted nigiri and maki just under the £20 mark. We've had some disappointments - dull agedashidofu, mushy gyoza filling - but we are invariably consoled by decent noodles, good fish and a kind bill. The low prices, along with no-frills choices (such as ultra-plain, topping-free udon in broth) and helpful photos on the menu, also make this a child-friendly place to have lunch. Hesitant but accommodating staff help too. However, anyone with a baby, be warned: there's only one high chair for the entire restaurant. In recompense, the wall-hung monitor that screens CGI seasonal leaves and blossoms (together with insipid relaxation music) might usefully be employed to mesmerise toddlers.

Babies and children admitted, Booking advisable, Takeaway serviceReally loved it here. Cosy and really good value sushi rolls. Prefer it to Cafe Japan around the corner.
Just love it! Amazingly good and authentic food At very resonable prices. Friendly staff. Decor is not what you go there for however.
Though first impressions are important and visiting here for the one time may leave you with an overall average-good feeling I have found that repeated custom is met with increasingly great service and noted appreciation.
In one such case a friend, from whom it was the first visit, and I dropped in for lunch. Not only were we served by the floor manager but close to 3pm (lunch closing time) he approached us, offered a drink of our choice on the house, and told us to take as much time as we wanted.
For the good food, and increasingly great and personalised service I give 4 stars. The decor, menu and furnishings still hold it back from going any higher though.
this is a great restaurant and really enjoyed the sushi, oyster bento and calamari rings. The downside is that the menu is bit to big and can be confusing on what to choose and the price is quite expensive, the staff are very friendly and courteous, the food was delivered quickly (this was on a Friday night and filled to capacity). I give it 3.5 stars because the food is excellent but the menu and the price needs to be worked on.
pls dont eat in this restaurant, it is so good that I want it just for myself. So, pls don
