There's a lot of exposed flesh in cosy little Il Bacio - mostly on the walls. If you're on a date, you might want to consider your choice of table: set under a painting of a naked man with a leaf between his legs, or maybe the fresco of two embracing lovers.
This is the original branch of a small group of Italian restaurants with a focus on Sardinia (look out for the likes of malloreddus pasta with spicy barbaricina sausage, or spaghetti with bottarga - dried mullet roe - and clams).
A starter of parma ham and poached pear looked as if it had come straight from a 1950s cookbook; the salty ham went well with the pears, but these tasted more tinned than poached. We continued with an excellent pizza bacione, its crisp base generously topped with creamy mozzarella and courgette, contrasted with bitter slices of radicchio and gorgonzola. Share a big slab of tiramisu for the perfect finish.

Tables outdoors ( 3, pavement ), Babies and children welcome ( high chairs ), Booking advisable, Takeaway service; delivery service ( over £10 within 2-mile radius )I've been here three times and had a brilliant time and really enjoyed the food immensely.
My favourite is the 'Stokie' pizza which has a mouth watering combination of spicy pepperoni, blue cheese and chillis.
The staff treated me and my friends with friendliness and were very fast to bring food and recommended dishes. There's a nice atmosphere with small vases with flowers and pictures on the walls. The food was good value for money, and the wine not too expensive either. The special board also looked nice, but haven't tried anything from it so far.
I have just booked this place for my birthday, and I'm sure I'll have a great time. I really don't understand why this place has such terrible reviews, it seems like it's a different place.
if there was no star rating thats what I would have given them, they call this a pizza joint? i dont think so.
Try Datte fuoco or even better trattoria sapori they do great pizza
This was the second time my friend and I have dined here and last night will be the last!
Both times we have been served by a male waiter who blatantly would like to be else where. When we asked if we could order drinks and a starter whilst we decide what to eat, we were rudely told no and because it was a busy night we had to decide now!
The pasta was bland and lackluster, I've tasted better pasta from a microwave meal for one. If I have to give any praise, the garlic pizza is tasty, but when you're served food from a sad, discourteous and scowling man, it doesn't really matter!
Just been to Il Bacio as the fabulous Il Bacio Express over the road was heaving...........
What a difference 500 yards makes
Service awful from three grumpy guys.
Dull tasteless Bruschetta
Pizza ok and fresh
One Calzone/One Zola-too much mozerella shoved in Calzone.
Didnt wait for desert
The bill was the quickest thing that came all evening.
Book over the road instead at Baccio Express
Geat service,Great mains and fantastic home made Tiramisu
