This bijou French deli has been a foodie hotspot since its arrival on Broadway Market in 2004. Its popularity means you'll struggle to bag a seat on weekends, but elbow past the lunchtime rush and you'll find a gourmet array of artisan cheeses and pastries.
The amusingly snooty French staff may be aloof, but they serve some of the best coffee and snacks in the area. Quiches are a safe bet, always crumbly and light, while the vegetable pastilla (a Moroccan-style pie) makes for a more hearty lunch.
Save room for desserts along the lines of fruit crumble tart or pear flan, and in fair weather grab a table outside and enjoy the eclectic mix of Hackney characters drifting by.
