There's often a nervous note in the air at the Vincent Rooms around the beginning of term. Adjoined to Westminster Kingsway College's school of hospitality and culinary arts, the restaurant's waiters and kitchen staff are almost all students, learning their trade on the job. While the atmosphere mellows (and the skills improve) as the year goes on, there's a perennial interest in a quality menu, as well as a genuine attempt at professional service.
This well-meaning approach makes a meal in the brasserie - or a tasting menu in the classier Escoffier Room - a wonderfully novel experience. A honey-grilled goat's cheese starter was gently sweet and devastatingly creamy, while a more technically challenging main of roast cod and squid tempura with saffron potatoes was full of flavour and culinary style. Pearl barley and caerphilly risotto was less successful, more milky than creamy. But the cheap-as-chips prices, and a real sense of effort, make it easy to forgive faults.

Facilities
Babies and children welcome ( high chairs ), Booking advisable, Separate room for parties ( seats 30 ), Disabled ( toilet )...had a lunch there today at the brasserie. upon entering, found more staff than diners, but soon there are more people arriving, many are the college staff i think. very spacious dining room, tables are well away from each other than you would expect in a commercial establishment. very friendly atmosphere with genuine services and smile from young students. nice food at a good price. will definitely bring more friends next time.
That's because it's a catering college! They're closed for the summer holidays!!
I couldn't find the restaurant on the college link provided. Here is their website: http://www.thevincentrooms.com/ However I found them already closed for the summer till 14 September!
