Oddono's ice-cream wins awards for a reason. This little shop on a South Ken side street looks unremarkable, but the ice-cream is outstanding. Fifteen indulgent flavours of gelato and sorbet glisten under a glass counter.
Chocoholics are well catered for, as billows of dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and cookies and cream gelato are voluptuously covered in chunks and swirls of chocolate. Fruit lovers can enjoy pomegranate sorbet, mango sorbet or no-added-sugar banana sorbet. Four gelato flavours change weekly; try to get there when salted caramel is on the menu - it's a revelation.
The simple decor of bright yellow walls and candy-coloured stools keeps the focus on gelato; you can even watch it being freshly made in the kitchen at the back. Staff chat excitedly in Italian, their T-shirts emblazoned with the motto 'Life's too short for bad ice-cream'. How right they are.
