Giuseppe Mascoli's much-lauded pizza joint began trading in 2008, and investment has since seen branches opening in Chiswick and Westfield Stratford, along with talk of expansion into the West End. But you wouldn't know that from a visit to the original, still in the same spot split by a corridor across two sites at the unfashionable end of Brixton market.
The place continues to be full (fit to bursting, in fact) most afternoons, thanks to the best - and given that, the most reasonably priced - pizza in London. The secret is in the bases, which are prepared the day before and then cooked for 40 seconds at high temperature.
The menu is simple: six different pizzas, none with fancy names, but instead with excessively generous toppings that are impeccably sourced - the ham comes from Gloucester Old Spot pigs, the ricotta and mozzarella from Alham Wood Organics in Somerset, the tomatoes from Salerno. To drink, there's organic wine, beer and lemonade. Ridiculously satisfying.

Amazing pizza, but the waitress was shockingly rude. My advice would be to get a take away, that way you don't have to put up with the appallingly bad service.
Best pizzas I've ever had, great atmosphere and a bargain at under £7. One of the best places to have lunch in London!
simply the best pizza ever, with friendly service .
Amazing! Great, fast service with pizza like i had in Rome. Gorgeous fruity organic red wine too! YUM!
Quite simply, the best pizza I have ever had in London... Go even if that's the only thing you do the weekend. It won't dissapoint you, oh by the way the pizzas are just over a fiver!!
Amazing pizza! Best one I had in London so far, and I'm talking about someone who has had many pizzas around the world and also Napolese Pizza too! They have one in Brixton (no booking, and always packed). One in Turnham Green area in the west (which is open on Sunday, I went there from East end, for an hour just to eat the pizza!). Thankfully they have opened a new one in Westfield Stratford, HOORAY! Now I can have my pizza as often and as quickly I want it! :)
Buzzing to find a Franco Manca near my home in Westfield Stratford!!! Not an avid fan of shopping centres, even for a woman, but my favourite pizza place is there and tasted just as good as my old haunt in Brixton.
best pizza in London - if only it was bigger!
Absolutely gorgeous. Just a pity that 'the quick turnaround' also entails chasing diners to eat up and go... Rather go outside of the lunch rush to enjoy this gem.
One of the best pizzas of my life. Service was amazing. I actually poured sugar all over it and they replaced it. I will be back!
When I first came across the shop there was a massive queue so I decided to get a takeaway pizza. The pizza smelt beautiful and tasted absolutley delicious I wanted more. I'd go there again and again as the pizza was the best i've ever tasted. I would truely recommend this to anyone, you should check it out!
I started eating here when it first opened and while I still think the pizzas are wonderful after the experience I had today they let themselves down. One waitresses decided to give out to another waitress within earshot. I sat down and one table and was told I would have to share another table with a single diner who had left the restaurant momentarily he was very put out when he got back and moved to another table. Due to the ongoing issues between the waitresses it took almost 5 minutes before the first waitresses returned to take our order and still being wound up from giving out to the other waitress asked us 3 times was it two number 4s that we wanted. To top the whole dining experience off a solitary diner who was half way through eating her pizza was unceremoniously moved in the middle of her meal to make room for two diners who were understandably extremely embarasssed over the whole matter. The pizza was great but everything else left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Wow. Go, you will not regret it! Amazing pizza, one of the best I've ever tried.
This is easily one of London's best value for money restaurants, the pizzas are every bit as good as the one if tried in Naples. Queue times can be long in peak times, but the very efficient staff mean you'll never be waiting too long. Never had a bad pizza from here yet.

I have just returned from a Friday peak hour lunch there and was shocked that while the line looked long, a party of five was seated within about 6 minutes. Not bad.
As for the veggie at the table, I have to say staff were brilliant in allowing flexibility with orders. Pizza was great and chewy, toppings fresh and high quality. Good stuff

It's incredible. One of the best pizzas I've eaten in my entire life. Certainly there is no better in the UK. World class. Guiseppe is a charmer too and the whole experience is a well deserved boost for Brixton. Brilliant place. Faultless. The smell of fish is part of the atmosphere.
pizza is sublime - waiting or no waiting. Amazing value. I have introduced many people to it and they love is too.
been there today, perfect pizza but: very long waiting time(35/40 minutes), only ONE pizzachef for almost 50 customers, chaotic service, wiatresses eating on duty, place a bit dirty, stong smell of fish coming from the nearby fishmonger.
Considering the parking fees (two pounds/hour) next time I will rather buy a travelcard and I will go in central London! More choice and more attractions.
correction! It's francomanca.co.uk, not dotcom. and it's just a menu with no other info - so the basics then. still worth a visit tho.
