Caribbean food is not widely available in central London, so this Soho gem is worth discovering. From the outside, Jerk City resembles a red-fronted caff. Dishes are chalked on a big board behind the front counter, and cooked in a subterranean kitchen by a chef-cum-waitress. If you're eating in, try to come in the late afternoon when a lull after the lunchtime rush means you're likely to have a choice of seating at the smattering of brown wooden tables.
Jerk City's repertoire of Caribbean staples includes curried, stewed or jerk chicken (marinated in hot peppers and herbs before being chargrilled), vegetable roti, braised oxtail with butter beans, peppered steak in rich gravy, and curried prawns with diced potatoes. Portions are generous, so a medium-sized ackee and saltfish at £7.75 was good value: large chunks of salted cod were blended with ackee, onions and sweet peppers, served with a sizeable helping of coconut-flavoured rice and peas, plus a side salad of fresh tomato, lettuce and cucumber. Accompany this with a smooth, sweet Guinness punch for a laid-back treat.

Facilities
Babies and children welcome ( high chairs; nappy changing facilities ), Takeaway serviceIt was as if someone had taken a dump in my mouth and charged me £10 for the privilege. Then they pissed in my eyes.
three of us ordered food from this restaurant. The funny thing is it never arrived! We waited for 2 hours! We tried calling but the phone was disconnected. Terrible service, we will not bother again.
I recently went to this restuarant for lunch and ordered a lamb pattie in coaco bread, something i always eat when having west indian food, I was disapointed in the quality of it as te patty lacked flavour and was very dry, coaco bread is known to be soft but the one i had from here was dry and hard i couldnt even bite through it. The food did not represent an authentic west indian taste. The lady who served me was young and had a misserable attitude, there was no welcoming attitude compared to many other west indian food places i have visited; there was no change in the tills. The food was extremly over priced considering its poor quality. I will not be visiting here again.
