This small but characterful café in a quiet corner of Hackney is often buzzing, due in no small part to its homely yet ambitious Georgian food. There are tables on the pavement for when the sun shines, and the simple, tasteful decor inside is perked up with quirky touches - vintage gramophones, fairy lights and stern, old black-and-white portraits. Service on our visit could have been more animated and it sometimes lacked urgency, but the tempting aromas wafting from the tiny kitchen were enough to distract us. Georgian borscht is served hot, and is the test of any east European menu; here it is comforting yet summery, with a deep, rich stock and layers of flavour. Another starter, soothing soft cheese blini, combined well with a garlicky carrot salad and herby yoghurt. Of our mains, from the weekly changing specials board, the most successful was the kharcho, beef stew with ground walnuts; tabaka, chicken with red plum sauce, was a bit dry and tasted as if it had been reheated. Nevertheless, Little Georgia's generous no-corkage BYO policy, laid-back atmosphere and generally solid cooking are serious draws.

Brilliant local food. Great vibe. Cute and quiet seats outside when the weather is good

I love this place...the Georgian breakfast is the best hangover cure I know! Food is delicious and the quirky surroundings add to the usually bustling atmosphere!

I'm not a fan of this place, the service is poor. This place gives a bad name to this excellent cuisine

I went this place yesterday and I never more will come back. the owner was very bored. the tea of my fried was so dark when it arrived was impossible to see the bottom of the cup. my cappuccino was more then trivial. the appearance of the kitchen is very normal. I didn't see any good products, just very cheaper ingredients.

Really friendly, cosy restaurant. As the previous review said the prices are very reasonable, and the food is very fresh and tasty.

Be sure to bring your own wine if you're drinking (Georgian wine is delicious, and it's a shame they don't have any. But Tesco have one brand or you can order online from the Georgian Wine Society).

Like finding £10 in an old pair of jeans!! A real hidden Jem!! A relaxed atmosphere with a friendly smile... soft music and cosy lighting...With great home cooked food...much better than mine though!!... Our starters of Feta stuffed bread and Roasted red pepper and Aubergine were absolutley delicious!! Mains of Lamb and a Spicy Sausage hot pot were equally fabulous...with a BYO and no corkage policy I really couldnt recomemend this place enough!! £66 for the four of us... each with starters and a main!! Only about 10 tables so best to book!!
