With an outside terrace on Heddon Street - hedonism itself on a summer's evening - and an interior of mesmerising beats, intricate carved wood, filigree metalwork, sumptuous fabrics, and subtle lights playing on crystal glasses, the atmosphere at Momo is intoxicating and seductive. A cosmopolitan clientele ranged from a baby in a buggy through dressed-up couples to smooth businessmen sporting expensive watches. Prominence is nonetheless given to the food, evidenced by the pyrotechnics behind the counter.
And there's a finesse to dishes such as the grilled sardine starter, the fish fillets resting on soft roast peppers and a crisp pastry galette. Moroccan salad is Momo's name for a fine fattoush; puffy bread performs juice-mopping duty. Come the main courses, the copper tabletop is laden with fragrant dishes of fruit and meat tagines: orange-zest flavoured chicken, or lamb, prunes and almonds on a bed of sweet, slow-cooked onions, with fluffy couscous. An accompanying dish of chickpeas and sultanas was heady with the scent of orange flower water.
All that was missing from the table was the bottle of Moroccan rosé irritatingly kept out of reach in a bucket. A glamorous and enjoyable, if not bargain-priced, evening that ended sweetly with syrupy mint tea in pretty glasses.

Facilities
Tables outdoors ( 14, terrace ), Babies and children admitted, Booking advisable ( weekends ), Available for hire, Disabled ( toilet )We visited the place on two occasions. We were very impressed with the decor, the atmosphere was nice, the music varies, one time it was more modern, the other time the music was more authentic and fitting for the venue. On both occasions they played it too loud for a cafe.
The service was shocking both times. The staff socialize with each other more then they do with customers, even though the place is half-empty. On the menu you are offered a tea refill, however the staff never comes around to ask if you would like a one, or to find out if everything is alright for that matter. The menu states that if you are ordering after 6 you must order food. Even though it was a quarter to 6 the waiter had the audacity to tell us we ought to order food with our tea and continued to push for an order after we pointed out it wasn't 6 yet.
The prices were a bit too high for what you were getting. Moroccan tea was quite enjoyable, the hummus on the other hand not so great.
Beautifully decorated. Great atmosphere. Lovely food. But even though the staff were really friendly, the service was pretty poor. It took far too long to get our drinks, and when the bread was put on the table none of us got stuck in because our mouths were so dry. Our food also took too long, but the friendly waitress gave us a few complimentary starters to keep us going, which thought was very nice as we hadn't actually complained (yet). It's very pricey, and because of the service I feel it's not really justified. But saying that I would definitely go back, for the ambiance alone.
Had a fantastic Lunch at Momo. My table was in the terrace and the service was perfect.
Enjoyed the Lunch set menu which is good value for money. I suggest the Momo special Cocktail for drinks , the food was delicious.
I could only recomment the restaurant !
Food was delicious and the service very nice! The atmosphere in the restaurant was amazing! My guest and me really enjoy our time and will definately go back for more dinner and drinks
Very surprised that this is a top-rated restaurant. Food was okay, but fairly pricey. Staff varied from indifferent to belligerent. When approached with a complaint about staff the manager was dismissive. He clearly had no interest in listening to complaint, and clearly felt that the customer must be in the wrong. I am happy to oblige him by never returning.
Service was terrible, especially from the manager. Very arrogant.
The disappointment in the service unfortunately ruined the experience.
