It may look like an American chain, but Uri Dinay's bijou falafel and houmous bar has become a firm favourite among connoisseurs of the Middle East's fried chickpea dumplings. There are a few tables and chairs for diners who want to eat in (and watch the goings-on at Old Spitalfields Market), but this is mostly back-to-the-office fare, which suits Liverpool Street denizens nicely.
You can eat very well for a fiver, or pay a little more and get extra toppings (egg, guacamole, feta, aubergine), and have your dish served in a container with pitta on the side instead of shaped into a wrap. For a change from falafel, try the sabich (houmous, aubergine, egg, tabouleh and salad in pitta).
Drinks (no alcohol) include own-made lemonade. Vegetarians can't go wrong, and there's
a 10% discount when ordering by phone before 11am.
