Already a chain in Paris, Amorino still feels like a one-off in Soho. Styling itself as a traditional gelateria (rather than today's typically bright contemporary parlour), it's a warm and cosy spot in which to partake of an Italian gelato.

The quality of flavours is key, and many of the ice-creams boast the provenance of their ingredients: lemons come from Sorrento, alphonso mangoes from India and coconut from Sri Lanka. All scoops are churned without artificial colours or flavourings, and, perhaps as a result, can lack intensity. Madagascan bourbon vanilla, for example, was beautifully creamy, but far too mild; and the amarena lacked the sour smack of a good cherry scoop. Flavours using more naturally vibrant ingredients, such as a powerfully sweet Ecuadorian banana, faired better.

But with 28 intriguing hot chocolates, as well as waffles, panettone and biscuits on the menu, you don't even have to be a fan of the cold stuff to enjoy a visit here.

This is definitely one of the best Ice cream parlours in London. Ice Cream done by weight so you can try as many flavours as you like!! Nutella is very good and pistachio.

Just went there today as a lunchtime treat. I had their smallest size cone which would usually be the size of one scoop. Price was £3.30 which did seem steep. But when I selected the single flavour I wanted I was advised they could put more than one flavour in which is a nice idea for such a small ice cream. I thought it was beautifully presented in a cone with the ice cream made to look like flower petals. I really enjoyed the flavours and would definitely go back again for a special treat.

Grossly over-rated place. £3.30 for a small ice-cream, and an excruciatingly long wait while the po-faced staff member (quite unnecessarily) shaped it into a rose. The vanilla ice-cream was just about OK but a long way from the best I've had in London. Avoid.

I agree with the previous comment. They love telling people they're queueing incorrectly - it's so unfriendly.

I have been there twice. The first time while in the queue I noticed the girl at the till was doing everything possible to look like she didn't care for the job - gazing everywhere but at customers and folding her arms tightly while people were deciding. The couple in front of me actually asked for a recommendation and she said "I don't know.. what you want!" (arms still folded) - so one of them made a comment about her attitude and they walked out.

Today I went back and asked if they do take away coffee (I couldn't see any paper cups etc so wasn't sure) - the girl (I think a different one this time) said "of course we do".. but then after some moments told me they no milk, so couldn't do a latte.

I asked why they had no milk - she said they had run out.. "and no one could get more.. on a Sunday afternoon in the centre of London?" and she said they didn't have anyone free to do it. Maybe that says as much about the management as it does about the staff.

I went there last night with couple female friends after our dinner. I knew the place because my flatmate had a gift from them before and seems interesting and luxry. So, I recommended my friend to go for a coffee and some desert after meal.

The ice creams were nice and we were happy for the items, but the service was absolutely awful!

The girl behind the counter have no smile since we walked in and was very rude and impatient to ask me to order in the way they ask for when we ready to order.

I was first time there and just trying follow normal way to order and she was look at me and say "this is the way we work"

It was difficult for me to deside which one I want and asked few questions, but she was very impatient and look very hesitated; it seems she just want quick finish the order even no one behind us.

This place just decoed in a nice way but actually not worth to go to pay the amount of money get such dreandful service!

I definitely will not go back again and encourage everyone not to go!!!

As resession going on, there are plenty place to enjoy and get better service and food can be much better. Why I have to waste my time to the place like this???
