The Horniman family's Victorian conservatory was relocated from their Croydon home in 1982 after falling into disrepair. It's now home to the quirky international café at this gem of a museum. Mains such as lasagne and own-made pizzas mingle with healthy options (cous cous-stuffed peppers with salad) and simple kids' meals (sausage, chips and peas), all served with a yoghurt or fresh fruit. A range of outdoor seating comes into its own in the summer months, and a smattering of picnic benches in the landscaped gardens make the best of Forest Hill's sweeping city views.
