At the end of the Greenway, past the View Tube Gallery, lies this fine new café housed within stacked-up acid-green shipping containers. It's not especially cosy: apart from a button-back sofa, seating is on stools, benches and fold-up chairs. However, there's a decked viewing terrace and a little sculpture garden for sunny days, and the constant influx of tourists, cyclists, joggers and the curious can't get enough of the place.
Perhaps it's the fact that, like its sibling the Counter Café, the Container boasts terrific views of the Olympic Stadium - Anish Kapoor's ArcelorMittal Orbit sculpture is directly opposite. A great draw too is the excellent coffee, moreish pastries and decent breakfasts, such as bacon baguettes or own-made baked beans on a bed of spinach with halloumi and toast.
Portions are smaller than at the Counter, but chirpy staff, an even chirpier soundtrack and cheaper prices make up for it. Community cycling centre Bikeworks is just outside if you feel like working off your breakfast.

I'm a chef myself and I like to try to challenge people's moans about portions/prices because a lot of people outside the catering industry just don't understaaaand! :D
Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Had a gorgeous bacon and egg baguette that had the Containers special sauce and gave it an extra zing. As a coffee addict I loved the flavour. Had two cups in the end! Well worth the visit. I am trying to encourage my 81 year old dad and his 78 year old friend to visit. Fun, fab and friendly. Great views of stadium as well.
View Tube is a chilled, friendly cafe, perfect for a morning coffee and bacon sarnie. They also serve a full lunch menu and beer in the evening.
Parking is very limited and a good few streets away, visiting via Pudding Mill Lane station looks like the easiest route.
Exciting times to be in London, well worth a trip to see the best views of the main stadium.
Great view of the Olympic site and fantastic bacon baguettes.
