Situated beside the Regent's Canal, Towpath is an idyllic place to stop and take in the passing water, ducks and people. Since opening in 2010, it has been committed to serving simple, tasty food and coffee. Wooden tables and chairs in a mix of primary colours sit alongside mirrored tables that reflect the sunlight bouncing off the water; seating also extends a little further west on a raised deck complete with cycle parking.
On our early morning visit, the chalked-up breakfast menu ran from toast with a selection of preserves to grilled cheese sandwiches, muesli and porridge. The din of building work blocking off the towpath did little to deter customers, and the seats rapidly filled as the café's devoted followers ambled in for their morning fix. Later on, food is seasonal and mostly Italian - think pork rillettes with piccalilli or roast lamb with anchovy and chard. Order at the counter and grab a seat: there's no takeaway service.

Tables outdoors ( 10, towpath ), Babies and children admitted, Bookings not accepted, Available for hireFirst time been moved to post a review, had to because I've just had probably my best meal of the year, and it was lunch!
Actually, honestly, sensational. Pitch perfect cumin lamb, incredibly tasty spiced cauliflower and stunning crispy chickpeas. Incredible combination.
I couldn't believe how good it was. The only meal I've had to rival it this year was a Bruno Bistro Loubet. The lady chef who works at the Towpath is seriously talented, her food totally, completely wowed me. No joke.
Its the kind of food you long to find in London and just never do. My mate tried my dish an was rendered similarly speechless. We both agreed we'd happily pay twice what they charged and still think we got great value, spectacular food.
There was a lot of expletive ridden superlatives flying about at our table!
I live a few hundred yards away and this is the local for me and my japanese Spitz. Truly wonderful food(The steak Sandwich with caramelized onions followed by treacle tart was particularly good, as are their salads). A great place to chill and despite it being so busy we almost always seem to get a seat. A little bit of Paradise along the canal and my favorite place to chill alongside the Rosemary Branch. Both Suki (The dog) and I give it 5 stars
Lori and her staff are brill!!!! not only do they make the meanest grilled cheese sandwich but they also love and care for the canal and its surroundings investing their own money in providing bike parking spaces and beds for plants. A template many businesses should emulate. Starbucks it aint!!!
Staff were SO friendly. Idyllic surroundings. Great food and just a really chilled, happy atmosphere. Nicest place I have been to in London in a LONG time (it helped that the sun was shining...).
truly Nirvana now with expanded kitchen and picnic blankets to stretch out on in the sun
Probably my favourite coffeshop in town! Perfect location, coffee and super-friendly staff! try the olive oil cake!
Chucking down rain - cycling home so stopped for a hot chocolate. Very nice - friendly staff, (un)touristy Americans and lively pup terrier at communal table. Feels more like someone's private garden than a restaurant.
Place worth visiting. Great coffee well served. Not much in the menu but all is fresh and tasty. Be aware only cash and no toilets. Great place and great people. I go very often.
Went there a few weekends ago: A tiny plate of paella served on a cardboard plate for £8!!!! :( Not worth it really.
Great location but I've been 5 times and consistently grumpy staff let it down - they behave as though they are doing you a favour and rarely smile
Love this space. Great staff, gourmet coffee served well, excellent location and friendly buzz. Small food offering but all the basics are covered.
Friendly service, but very limited brunch menu (on a Sunday). Beware, it is cash only and if you need to use the bathroom you're sh*t out of luck - no bathrooms here. Beautiful surrounds and very relaxing.
Brillant place - well worth checking out. The new place to be in London
im still dreaming about the oysters i had there last weekend. What an amazing place, delicious food, friendly staff, a real find.
Awesome place...awesome staff - even has a bike repair and service centre open and open l;ate on thursday, fri, sat and sun till dusk serving wine and tapas - what more could you ask for!!!
towpath is the best place to eat and drink in london. top service and amazing food. loved every mouthful and every second. would recommend it to everyone.
Yesterday it was totally disorganised with only one person serving and four other people standing around looking pretty but doing nothing.Consequently a very very long line that stretched along the canal path. Stopped serving coffee before 12 midday.
was closed today Tue 13th April for what looked like refurbishment?? No signs to say how long for?
