Just south of Ravenscourt Park, Kirsten and Nico (the café is named after their dogs), serve breakfasts, lunches and dinners that have been satisfying locals since 2007.

Customers are welcomed cheerily into the cosy split level dining room and instantly asked if they want something to warm up - with options of Monmouth coffee or tea from Teapigs. A range of cakes and pastries are all own-made and laid out temptingly on the counter.

For more substantial breakfasting, on weekday mornings, eggs are delicately poached or scrambled atop buttered sourdough toast and complemented by smoked salmon, flavourful pork and leek sausages or bacon. Meats are brought in from a nearby Chiswick institution, Macken Brothers Butchers.

On weekends, the breakfast menu gets upgraded to eggs Benedict, Royale, or roasted mushrooms for vegetarians. Pancakes come rolled around caramelised bananas and crisped back bacon, drenched generously with maple syrup.

From lunch, and more so for dinner, the menu changes to highlight the Argentinian and Kiwi roots of the owners. Chimichurri and Argentine steaks, New Zealand lamb and green-lipped mussels contribute to food with an international mix of influences.

The wine list continues on the patriotic bent, exclusively touring the proprietors' home country vineyards and including some well known Argentine vitners: Trapiche and Zapata. Bottles begin at £15 and climb from there on a steep trajectory.
