Another sherry-and-tapas joint from the crew behind Cambio de Tercio and Tendido Cero, Capote y Toros is built along the same winning lines.

The regularly changing menu is a mini gastro-tour of Spain's great and good, so there's cured cecina (beef ham) from Leon, spicy Andalusian chorizo cooked with fino sherry, and juicy meatballs in a mellow tomato sauce (a regional speciality of Jerez). Long, luscious folds of premium cured meats (jamon Ibérico Sánchez Romero Carvajal), or cuts of creamy cheeses served with plump grapes, are also worth a look.

Much like its sister restaurants, Capote y Toros is done out in vibrant colours: the deep pink and ultra-orange echo the bullfighters' capes in the framed pictures that line the walls, while the same sense of bravado carries over to the bill of fare.

The wine list explores the great names (Rioja, Ribera del Duero) and lesser-known regions of Spain. The main liquid attraction here, though, is not the wines, but the sherries. Taste them in all their multifaceted glory: 48 varieties are available by the glass, ranging from bone-dry, pale straw-coloured finos and manzanillas to unctuously rich, raisiny sweet pedro ximénez.
