Gelato Mio

From its first shop in Holland Park, Gelato Mio is now scattered across north and west London like nuts on a sundae. The spacious Belsize Park branch makes the most of the wide pavement and leafy surrounds with plenty of outdoor tables and a swing seat that pleases both kids and adults.
As the name suggests, Italian-style gelato is the draw; ingredient quality is high and the flavours are true, with options changing weekly. The cioccolato, made with dark Belgian chocolate, and amarena (black cherries mixed with fior di latte) are especially good; children will love the clean-tasting banana flavour, and parents can rest assured there's nothing artificial in the mix.
For parties, you can order gelato cakes, customised flavours or even a full-sized ice-cream display, complete with staff to scoop. Take-home tubs are available, though, at £10 for 500ml, they're no bargain.
