Milk Bar opened in 2008 as an offshoot of Flat White, one of the original Antipodean cafés in London. If we awarded stars for coffee alone, Milk Bar would get top marks: the baristas clearly love their trade, and use a signature blend of Square Mile beans to coax perfect flat whites, piccolos and long blacks from a top-of-the-range La Marzocco machine.
But other aspects could do with a refresh. The decor is rather uninspiring, with teenage-bedroom black walls not adding much ambience. Simple salads and sandwiches are own-made, but the cakes we tried on our last visit were too sweet, unremarkable and lacked a home-baked flavour.

This is one of London's top coffee spots, Staff are always friendly and always making amazing flat whites/ long macchiato's.
Superb coffee, by far the best I've had in London, however the staff were a little grumpy. Cool ambience, like the seating arrangement, more cheery, less intimidating staff needed
This place used to be called Blue Room, and Living Room before that, and it was ten x cosier, better (you could use the toilet next door, as now they claim not to have one) and had a much friendlier service as well. Avoid

Nice coffee, shame about the staff - I would go out of my way to go to Notes, Prufrock or any number of other coffee shops where staff are friendly. I will not go back to Milk Bar.

Disappointing - food was average and the service was slack. I was hoping for a glimpse of the wonderful cafe culture from down under, it was certainly not here today
While I agree that the coffee is very good, the service was not. I gave it a few chances, but we were treated so rudely last time, we made it the last time. Cool and contempt are not the same, chaps.
