You'd be forgiven for instinctively patting your pocket for your passport when entering the bright interior of A Toca, so evocative is the competing Portuguese chatter of its devoted locals, staff and big-screen televisions. The menu includes a great deal of seafood, from tapas-style servings of grilled sardines to boiled octopus. We loved signature mains of bacalhau a bras, a mix of salt cod with egg, onions and potato, and a Mirandesa-style sirloin cooked with garlic and olive oil: both featured strong, salty flavours that went well with one of the best-value house reds we've tasted. Save room for the dessert of honey and almond ice-cream in a dainty little pot.

Good place, simple Portuguese food but done very well. The fish and meat dishes (especially the Sirloin steak special) are excellent and cooked very rare as requested. Also the portions are massive and it is very good value for money.

Really great home cooked Portuguese food. Massive portions for ridiculously low prices, and friendly staff. Pork dishes especially good.

I just went there to have dinner with my family we sat at the top right balcony and i have to say that i was very disappointed with a number of things:
- The waiter that served us wasn't efficient, after we finish the food he didn't remove the empty plates from the table, which can be very uncomfortable.
- The meat was of poor quality full of nerves and not well cooked
-The furniture was cheep and very uncomfortable and didn't help to make the night enjoyable.
Over all not a very professional attitude from the staff!!!

On a positive note, i did enjoy the grilled fish. It was well cooked and tasty.
I recommend this restaurant if u want to go for some fish at lunch time but not for a relaxing evening with family or a hot date.
