I found this restaurant and it was absolutely great. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is set in a cosy and familiar setting, one can feel very comfortable in it. They use terracotta tableware typical specially of the North of Portugal. I am Portuguese and actually it was in this restaurant that I ate the best codfish in a good couple of years. Their food is not only very loyal to the truth of how Portuguese food looks and tastes like but it is also utterly delicious as well

Portuguese in everything but location Wine & Bread has been called the best restaurant of its type in town – not bad when you consider ‘town’ refers to no less than London. A family run café, restaurant and lounge bar in the Hendon area of North West London, Wine & Bread is at once family friendly and extremely grown up, the concept appealing to both daytime diners and late night lounge lizards. Husband and wife team Marcia and Kadir, bring years of experience in five star hotels and restaurants to their own venture, providing not only a taste and passion for food, but an eye for design and a desire to provide the best possible service and relaxing atmosphere all at once. Mediterranean in flavour, Wine & Bread’s menu is typically Portuguese, recalling the best dishes enjoyed during those balmy summer’s evenings on the Algarve or in languid weekends in Lisbon. A carefully selected, concise wine list includes not only Portuguese grapes but the best of the world’s wine producing regions.

I booked the restaurant to host my wife's 40th Birthday surprise party and I was not disappointed! They have a great function room at the rear which gives you privacy from the rest of the diners and you can have a lovely experience in a home like environment.
They set the tables for us with flowers, balloons and drinks. The atmosphere is so authentic and unique. You can rarely find a place in London where you can have a party, have privacy and experience great food.
We had a variety of starters and a taste from all most all of their main meals.I cannot fault even one meal. All my guest were surprised by the variety of food and really enjoyed it.
Their seafood rice dishes were unique, everything was freshly cooked and had a great homelike feel.
Service was discreet and they catered for all of our request.
I cannot recommend them enough. If you like authentic food and a great atmosphere this is the place for you and the function room at the rear is a great plus.
I hire Bread and Wine for my party and Marcia was a fantastic host, I couldn't have wanted for more, in addition to fantastic food and drinks we had a bonus when we found out that Marcia is also a very talented photographer, me and my friends had great fun doing a photo shoot in the restaurant with back drops and props,,, we will have these for memories forever and I am so grateful for the photos and experience TEN OUT OF TEN on every level
Great local restaurant with a small Cafe, Restaurant and Bar. A place for romantic/casual dinners, private parties such as birthdays and Christening or just for a glass of wine / cup of coffee.Their aim is to offer a great quality dining experience in relaxed, comfortable and informal surroundings. At the heart of what they always wanted to achieve is value for money and quality…somewhere you can relax and have a wonderful time. Hope they'll keep it the same way. Hendon needs you guys...
