My wife and I went here for an evening meal when we were in town for our anniversary. We booked quite late in the evening and were actually free a bit earlier than expected. We phoned the restaurant and asked if we could bring forward our booking. They said sure, to come now and so we did. We thought it a bit odd that they didn't ask for the name on the booking and sure enough when we got there it was full and we had to wait until a table came free. When we did get seated we got served after the next table who arrived after us. So being busy is a good sign but the organisation was a bit shambolic to be honest. The food on the other was a real treat - we had a mixed tandoori vegetable platter, each veggie was coated in a different blend of spices. I could eat that again every day of my life - truly gorgeous! We then had one of their range of dosas - again very nice. A very reasonable price for really good food but such a shame they can't be as slick out of the kitchen as they are in it.

Casual but smart restaurant with dark wooden tables, beige bamboo wall paper and wooden flooring. This is a very popular Indian vegetarian restaurant established as part of the Woodlands Restaurant group in 1981 in London. There are over 40 branches in India!
The restaurant is ideal for easy dining with a buzzy brasserie atmosphere. Based in the heart of Theatreland just a stone's throw from Leicester Sq ideal for a pre or post theatre dining. Woodlands has recently launched a delicious and healthy Tandoor menu in which dishes are cooked in a clay oven. Also introduced recently is a innovative Organic Wine List...you really can taste the difference as these wines are much purer and lighter with a longer finish.

My friends and I went there for a quick work lunch break. Waiter asked us if we wanted the food to come all together and we said yes. After waiting for slightly longer than expected we asked to bring dishes as they got ready and he said as a matter of policy he cannot dispatch food one at a time and then got aggressive. We told him that it's odd to have such a policy, upon while he got absolutely hysterical. Not wanting to argue we told him to let it be, but he stood by the table just screaming away at all of us. Finally we told him either leave us alone or get the manager, upon which he walked up to the manager and started pointing fingers at us and loudly arguing with clearly audible 'that girl' 'that guy' all the while pointing his fingers on our table! The food was served but the very loud accusing from the waiter, in clear earshot did not end. Finally getting sick of overhearing him talk about our table and continuously pointing at us, we told the manager we were getting extremely uncomfortable. All the manager said was Please don't bother, I'm trying to explain to him.' We promptly left the food on the table and left. One word, pathetic.
