Gorgeous salon, lovely staff and products that smell good enough to eat. Gielly Green is dripping with luxury but doesn't make you feel like you're on ceremony. Birthday vouchers are a nice touch too!

You can tell a fair bit about a salon from the calibre of towel on offer. At this swish Marylebone hairdressers they’re as thick as duvets and the colour of caramel highlights. That level of service runs through the whole establishment, which is darkly glossy and reassuringly expensive. Cuts cost up to £144 (although you can get a junior stylist for £55), but if you have the money to spend, it’s a great place to spend it. As well as the usual roster of cuts and colour, there is a spa-style beauty department, where you can go for a 120-minute facial to recover from the stress of your head massage and unctuous conditioning treatment. Alternatively, if you're after a blow dry on the go, Gielly Green operates as a Blow Dry Lounge in Fenwick department store administering the kind of sleek waves that make you feel rich (Fenwick, 63 New Bond St, W1S 1RQ. 7034 3060, www.fenwick.co.uk).

Utterly wonderful. Great service. The beauty salon downstairs is amazing as well - by far the best wax in London. I refuse to go anywhere else.
After 20 years of going to top hair salons and having them ruin my hair with bad colour I always lived in hope. I found it with Gielly Green their junior colourist new straight away that the highlights didn’t suit my skin tone then highlighted my hair perfectly and have me a glamorous blow dry. If she is anything to go by then the rest of the staff must also be amazing. I will be entrusting them with my hair from now onwards. Thank you Tanya!
Gielly Green is fantastic. Fred is wonderful. I would never go anywhere else again. He always makes me feel beautiful and my hair glamorous. The Gielly Green products smell wonderful and make your hair fair incrediblly soft and manageable.
Fred Gielly is fantastic. The salon is very upscale and sophisticated. For those who want to avoid having their hair razored to within an inch of its life by the plethora of untalented stylists whose vocabulary consists of a few words such as 'wow, amazing, fabulous' mostly when describing themselves and their perceived talent. He is well worth his fee and the haircut really lasts.
