London Fashion Week at Carnaby

With London Fashion Week setting up shop in Brewer Street Car Park for SS16, Soho will be all-abuzz with the pitter-patter of statement shoes. Just a stone’s throw away on Carnaby Street, you’ll be able to catch the catwalk action from the likes of Sibling, Peter Pilotto and Gareth Pugh unfold live on a ginormous outdoor screen. There’s also a clutch of promotions running in store, including a 20 percent discount at AQ/AQ Woman, a showcase exhibition at jewellers The Great Frog and a gift with purchase at Cheap Monday.

Carnaby Style Night

More than a hundred of Carnaby’s shops, restaurants and bars team up for an evening of fashion and free stuff. New to the event for this season is a series of trend talks headed up by Carnaby’s Style Panel, featuring LFW designer Richard Nicoll, OTHER co-founder Matthew Murphy, Ben Sherman CEO Mark Maidment and Pretty Green’s design director Pat Salter. International Fashion Showcase

130 designers, 30 countries, 4 continents: the fourth International Fashion Showcase promises a glimpse of some of the world’s most exciting design talent. A collaboration between the British Council and the British Fashion Council, it’s also the only BFC initiative that’s open to the public over fashion week. With static exhibitions arranged by country, highlights include an exploration of traditional Nigerian costumes, a Polish ‘night out’ and a re-interpretation of traditional Colombian techniques. There’ll also be a public programme of talks and events throughout fashion month; details TBA.

London Fashion Weekend

BFC and River Island Fashion Film Screening

It’s a year of firsts for Fashion Film. Typically an invite-only affair, this year’s screening opens its doors to the style-conscious public. Alongside short films from Gareth Pugh and House of Holland, River Island will present its latest Design Forum collaboration with Jean Pierre Braganza. What’s new? With the help of your phone, a headset and Google’s new Cardboard app, the film will be transformed into a 360 degree virtual reality experience. We’re intrigued.
