Excellent! Had Vicki cut my hair this morning and it looks fantastic. Staff are really friendly and knowledgeable, the room where they wash your hair is really relaxed and the whole place has a really nice vibe. My hair was a bit of a mess when I arrived due to a previous experience in another salon but Vicki took the time to make it look fabulous again. This will be my new regular salon. Highly recommend.

This buzzy Covent Garden salon has a reputation for styling the uber-gorgeous (as the glossy mag pages on the walls, featuring the locks of Kate Moss, Drew`Barrymore and Gwyneth Paltrow can attest). But don’t be intimidated by the A-lister clientele. The salon has a friendly and down-to-earth vibe; even the minimalist decor is offset by a huge welcoming table in the reception piled with retro board games, tastefully placed art books, and er, 'The Complete Guide to Ferrets'. Come here for beautiful cuts and colouring, with results that feel bang-on-trend without being slavishly stylista. The speed style (£25) created by staff used to turning around top-notch results at breakneck speed at the catwalks is a handy lunchtime option. And stylists will patiently offer advice on how to get the best from your new look at home for those ‘It-didn’t-look-like-this-in-the-salon,’ moments.

Finding a decent men's hairdresser is not easy. I like Windle and can honestly say I've never needed to go elsewhere. I use Jean-Marc. Least annoying hairdresser I've met. Good sense of humour, doesn't take long, listens to what you want and tells it like it is. Job done.
Being a fashion girl who knows what she wants, it was with slight intrepidation I made my way to Windle & Moodie. Fortunately for me a friend (a fashion insider who has impeccable taste) pointed me in the direction of Moodie & Windle and colourist Akio. As soon as I met Akio I trusted him immediately and knew I'd found an absolute gem. Akio was super patient and asked all the right questions to get to know me and the look I was hoping to achieve. He worked tirelessly to give me the highlights I was looking for. Not very easy with thick hair like mine (and a slighlty critical eye!). Akio made me feel so relaxed - his colouring is a whole different level. He brought a calming vibe to the busy salon and made me feel at ease in no time. Akio being as modest as he is won't mention the celebrity models he's worked for - the wait is worth it. I've already recommended Moodie & Windle Salon to my friends who snapped up the number. I couldn't reccomend this salon enough, it's cool, stylish and incredibly good with people.
I have recently discovered Windle & Moodie and all I can say is it is one of the best salons in London.. Every time I visit the salon I like to have a different haircut so it is important for me to have a really creative and motivated hairdresser, this salon does not disappoint. I would recommend it to all of my friends.
I am a regular client to windle & moodie and always left the salon happy with my service but unfortunately on this occasion i was disappointed to hear Jamie had left windle & moodie salon.I was very unimpressed with the level of service and communication that was delivered i was recommended another colorist and made to believe they had my previous colour records but in this case it was a lie as my unconfident colourist had no idea what colour to use on my hair i left feeling frustrated and angry. But thankfully i discovered that my colorist jamie is only 10 minutes away in a salon called saco and i look forward to visiting him
Once again, went to Vicki for a cut; she took my hair from short to shorter and did exactly as I asked. Very intuitive about hair and really understood how my hair works, which says a lot! Will be going back to her when ready for another cut.
I've been a regular at Windle & Moodie for a few years now and don't see that changing anytime soon. MJ is one of the best stylists that I've ever had and she really knows her stuff. She's particularly talented when it comes to total transformations - she cut my curly hair from long to short and now I have a super sexy, stylish pixie crop. Whenever I want to mix things up a bit, she always knows what I mean and never fails to deliver. My advice to anybody who's thinking of cutting their long/mid length hair short, but is feeling a little nervous, would be to go and see MJ, she'll put you at ease, talk everything through with you and then give you the cut of your life - you'll walk out feeling on top of the world!!
I love everything about the salon and the thing that makes me keep return is the way jamie colours my hair im never disappointed I always leave feeling a million dollars
I've had the most wonderful experience after going to see jamie to get my hair colour done such great length was given to explain what could be done and what would suit me and im so happy with the results a must I couldn't recommend higher
I LOVE MY NEW HAIR @ Windle & Moodie! Nicole my hair stylist gave me a long bob which at first I was hesitant about but now I just love it. The cut makes me feel fresh and my hair is a lot thicker. The salon itself was charming as were the staff. Usually I feel slightly uncomfortable when going to hair salon but Windle & Moodie staff made me feel completely at ease. I hope I can keep on going to Nicole as I have never had a better haircut nor have I been treated so well.
I was heartbroken when the hairdresser I'd been to for 20 yrs retired. It's been a long search for another. I've tried lots, unsuccessfully. I'm so glad to have found Windle and Moodie. It's a friendly salon, lovely surroundings and best of all, excellent haircut. Thanks, Paul.
Windle & Moodie is exactly the salon I have been hoping to find since I moved to London a few years ago, it's perfection! Effortlessly cool whilst being luxurious, ideally located in Seven Dials and the staff have just the right mix of being friendly and attentive without any hard sell tactics. My regular stylist is also Vicki who with just a bit of vague direction from me was able to deliver exactly what I had hoped for in a new style, which works equally well if I style it or if I have a lazy day and can't be bothered. Without a doubt it's the best haircut I've had in my life. It's the little things, too, that make all the difference - usually when you go in for a fringe trim they want you out the door as soon as possible, but at Windle & Moodie they take the time to have a nice chat with you, make you a tea, and then use lovely Bumble and Bumble products and a blow dry as well (indeed, they treat fringe trims like all other cuts). Have tried lots of salons in London and Windle & Moodie is the best by a mile. Thoroughly recommended.
After trying several salons in London I have settled on Windle and Moodie which is consistently reliable and welcoming. My regular stylist is Vicki, who always does my hair just the way I like it, and with a smile! The standard of her work is better than the price tag would suggest, and is very good value. The first time she cut my hair I wasn't sure how to change it to get a look that worked for me, but Vicki had a natural understanding of what would work and I am really pleased with the result. I travel specially from Wiltshire and it is well worth it. Thoroughly recommended.
I was very pleased with my first visit to Windle & Moodie. I had my hair cut by Vicki who was fantastic. Despite being a cheaper option of stylist the quality of cut was excellent. I had some ideas but overall was unsure what to have done so I asked for Vicki's opinion and she was more than happy to take the time and discuss new ideas. She listened and incorperated everything I wanted with her own suggestions and I was really happy with the outcome. I can definitely recommend Vicki if you are in doubt!
I found Windle and Moodie on TimeOut, chose it because of the reviews, and was not disappointed. This was my first time to London, and I wanted to get a very different haircut in a fun city like London. I was treated phenomenally by all the staff, they were all so kind and attentive. Vicki cut my hair and spent nearly 3 hours with me, making sure I got the exact cut I wanted that matched the picture I brought in. I wanted a very short cut that took a lot of time and she did a fantastic job. I could not be happier! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Really recommend Windle and Moodie at Short's Gardens for a great cut. Very good customer service, including not being chatted to about trivia whilst having your hair washed! Instead, the washing area is darkened, with soothing music and a competent person finishing the wash with a head massage. I am always very pleased when I go along. Victoria does my hair, and she is charming, confident, and a great stylist.
i had the pleasure of experiencing jamie's coloring skills for first time and i am so pleased with the results it will not be the last time i experience his work.the salon has a great atmosphere very friendly
Had a cut with Vicki after reading reviews on TimeOut and was very pleased. Had a complete restyle going from long to very short hair and she took her time, paying attention to every detail and really making sure it was exactly as I wanted it. Would definitely recommend her and will go back when I'm ready for a trim!
After reading the reviews for colourist jamie I thought I would try his colouring skills as ive not been able to find a colourist in london that I like.the results of my hair is amazing and what a lovely salon great atmosphere friendly staff
After just my 2nd visit to the salon its lovely to have a decent conversation rather than the usual hairdresser talk that im used to I had my hair coloured by jamie which im so happy with the results
I've just discovered jamie who is by far the best person that has bleached my hair as I normally end up with stil golden roots but I was told that jamie is the best for blondes and he is by far the time he took to explain what was needed to achieve what I wanted and the results are amazing I left with the most amazing rose pastel colour and a big smile
Simon and jamie are by far the best duo always giving me such great hair I always come away feeling great jamies colouring and simons cutting never cease to amaze me I always get so many complements please go and try them you will never look back
When I first came into the salon they sat me down in a chair in front of a mirror and asked what I wanted done to my hair. I told them I simply want a blunt cut below the chin and emphasized that I didn't want it too short, about mid-neck. I ended up with a haircut well above the chin, far shorter than I wanted. If they're going to bother asking what I want done then at least they should listen. After having explicitly stated what I wanted done there is no reason to end up with something different. This salon was also full of the least charismatic hairdressers I've ever encountered.
I have been looking high and low for a good hairdresser in London for the past 3 years and having been to many and never looking or feeling fantastic when I left the hairdressers. I thought I would have another go when I saw a review on TimeOut stating that Windle and Moodie are 'the best for new style'. I was a bit sceptical about getting my haircut again after many hair disasters in the past but after the haircut with my fab stylist Nicole, I felt a million pounds and even know after a week, I still feel truly fantastic. Nicole was amazing, she helped me with ideas when I wasn't sure what would suit me and she put so much time and attention into my hair. I will definitely be going back again and asking for Nicole because now I feel, finally that I have found my stylist and I am positive that she will do a great job next time too!
I have been having my hair styled at Windle & Moodie for some time now. Everyone there are so friendly and helpful my hair is always cut to a very high standard and looks great. I cannot praise the skills of Paul Windle enough. The Bumble & Bumble products they use are really good! I have been to other top salons in London but I find Windle & Moodie are the best by far!
My boyfriend booked me a hair appointment here as my birthday present, with Simon (cut) and Jamie (colour). It was a lovely treat, and I'm currently working out how I can try and persuade my boyfriend to send me back every 8 weeks(!). This is probably the most dramatic change I have had hair-wise- I went from having brown hair that was almost down to my elbows to having a short, blonde pixie cut. Simon and Jamie listened to what I wanted and were incredibly supportive throughout the day, which was needed! I went for a free consultation to chat about what I wanted before hand. Simon and Jamie reassured me that what I wanted would suit me and that they would tweak it to make sure this was the case. I actually think they know me better than myself- what I ended up with wasn't exactly like the picture I went in with but suits me far better. I've had so many compliments about my new look- both about how it looks like a good quality cut and colour and about how well it suits me. Have recommended to friends and family- you should definitely give this salon a try!
Hi well this isn't really a review but I wanted to pose a question to you guys seeing as this salon has gotten rave reviews, and me being a teenage young black male I want to try different hairstyles and I would like to know if this would be a suitable place for me to go to considering my hair type the likes of Kevin Prince Boateng hairstyles attract me to trying new things but I'm a bit hesitant due to my hair type, so I would like to know if this would be the place for me, plus I'm beginning university soon so I would like a change. Thank you so much to those who reply.
I am a man who is EXTREMELY paranoid about hair cuts. I think a lot people are to be honest. I moved down from Manchester about a year and half ago and had a hairdresser there who was brilliant. As you can imagine when I moved to London I was scared. I went to about 4 hairdressers of varying quality and they were awful. Seriously not happy at all. At one point it would have probably worked out cheaper to get the train to Manchester and get it done there. Anyway, a friend told me about Nicole Newton who worked at Windle and Moodie. I was a bit edgey about it to be quite honest but as soon as I got there she was brilliant. Incredibly afable and listned to what I was saying, how I felt and showed me all of the options available. Most of all she was honest and really cared about me as a client. The service was absolutely first class and I have officially appointed Nicole in charge of my hair now until it all drops out. If you want to get it right then go and see her.
I recently had my hair cut with Paul Windle; having seen the reviews on Time Out. I am delighted with my hair. It looks healthy and full-bodied .I asked for a style that was easy to manage, stylish and different to what I had. I got exactly that and a style that really suits me (according to friends and family). All the staff, including Paul, were very friendly and warm. I had a wonderful head massage whilst having my hair washed. I left the salon feeling great and will definitely return.
I had an excellent experience at Windle & Moodie with Jamie (colourist) and Simon (haircut). I went to Windle & Moodie to correct a series of bad haircuts and colour treatments I've had at other salons. This was my first visit there and so I was a bit nervous that, like my other salon experiences recently, I wouldn't get what I wanted. Both Jamie and Simon assuaged my concerns immediately though as they were attentive and knowledgable. Not only talented, they also made sure to explain each step so I knew how they were going to correct my damaged hair. I am very happy to have found them and highly recommend them both.
Really good! Absolutely 5 star. Hairdresser seemed young but had an really good sense of what I was trying to do and what needed to be done! The experience of having your hair washed in state-of-the-art room specially designated for that, was quite an incredible experience. Needs to be tried for that alone. Really impressed, and I have been going to hairdressers in London for 30 years. Also, very reasonable prices I thought. (I used to go to Charles Worthington until their prices got totally ridiculous)
This has been the best experience in a hair salon ever!!! Sergio was amazingly attentive and my hair has honestly never looked better! I also coloured my hair, which had been left quite frail after years of dyeing it myself, and I have to say Jamie got it spot on!!! Definitely try this salon, it will be worth it!!
Went to the salon after being reccomended by a friend and saw Jack. Was looking for a new style but wasnt sure what i wanted. Jack suggested a colour that would compliment my skin tone better as i felt the colour i had was a bit dull. Jack also did the cut and was very sensative to the fact i dont like having my hair cut and havnt been to the salon in over 6 months for a cut. The result was FANTASTIC and te girl that did the massage was amazing, If you want to try something new i would recommend Jack at windle and moodie to anyone. I have already been stopped and asked about my hair in the street Thank you guys i will defo be back
As a treat my husband booked me a haircut and colour at Windle and Moodie. I knew I wanted change and I'm very glad I went for it. I went from long dull post pregnancy hair to short and brightened colour. It's definitely given me a make-over feeling and feels absolutely great. In addition to that the whole experience was fantastic, the shampoo dark room and the personal touch when blow drying and finishing your hair to your personal request. Since then people have commented on how great it looks, how well it suits my face and my husband loves it. As for style maintenance it's minimal, that's one of the things I love about it, quick and easy and looks great. I'm very glad I went there! I had a fantastic experience and have the haircut to show and prove it, I'll definitely be re-visiting on my next trip to London.
I have been visiting London for extended periods over the last 2 or so years. At times I am in dire need of a touchup to my roots so I decided to try this salon. I made the appointment online and got a response the next day. Reception suggested a senior colorist per my request, and a stylist based on my appointment time. Takashi, my colorist, paid painstaking attention to understanding the state of my hair and what to do with it. He explained the ins and outs of temporary and permanent color and an appropriate shade for my skin. After shampoo he checked it several times. Very professional and competent! Bon was my stylist. He also took time to learn what it was I wanted to do and gave me alot of information regarding the cuts and how they would grow out. He did a great job on dusting and cleaning my cut and thinned it out as well. Sadly he leaves the salon shortly. They were both very competent and instilled alot of confidence in me. (I have been known to jump up mid-cut and leave if I felt the stylist was too junior.) I will go again and hope they are both still there next time. For visitors from the US, try this place!!!!!
