Cool and quirky is the name of the game at this long-established Knightsbridge outlet, known for its innovative hand-built frames. A new collection is introduced twice a year, perhaps Warhol-inspired or the classic retro styling of the 'Belle du Jour' range. (The glasses supremo has even been handling Victoria Beckham's impressive eyewear collection.)
C&G is renowned for its clever use of colour in its optical frames, while sunglasses run the gamut from leather-trimmed aviators to oversized tortoiseshell numbers. What characterises all of the frames is the high quality. The iconic Vintage eyewear range, meanwhile, draws rock and film stars to the fabulous sister shop at no.7, which has period gems dating back to the 1920s. Current bestsellers include 1960s Persols, '70s Porsche and '80s Cazals with prices from £200 to £3,000.

such a pity. beautiful designs, no where near the high quality i used to be such a fan of.
and the 'service' oh dear goodness. whatever happened?! its abysmal. looks like they now choose their staff on looks not ability; dollybirds who want to work in fashion, and give them less than no optical training. manners and a smile would be a good start. or a different opticians. i gave up after my 3rd visit to try and buy a new pair, and won't be going back. they don't even have the cool vintage products from cazal etc anymore, just a shop full of their older styles, often remakes not actual vintage.
