Browsing here is as comfy and laid-back as flicking through a friend's collection; battered sofas and cuppas abound. The vast selection of quality used LPs and CDs is so constantly in flux that hundreds of records are cluttered on the central table at any given time while they await sorting. This is done by affable owner Roger Hewland, whose alleged photographic memory is probably the only thing stopping the store sliding into chaos. The majority of the ground-floor CD stock is taken up with an alphabetised catalogue of composers past and present, with opera also well represented (both on CD and DVD) and an assortment of mainstream and modern jazz, comprising almost half the stock. Venture down to the shoebox basement and you'll find the home of the store's vinyl collection. There's a 10% discount on purchases over £100 too.

A fantastic day out before returning to Kuwait!! Great chat and a wonferful place to learn about singers of a bye gone age, the history of recording and the correct playing speeds of the older records. Roger is a great host and a mine of information.
