A beauty editor of a very famous glossy tipped us off about Guinot. It is the only place she will allow herself to be epilated, and one trip reveals why. The two-pronged attack of two different waxing methods - Épil Smart (for all areas) and Stick'Hair (for the lady bits) - is genuinely painless. What's more, the surroundings make the whole experience of waxing almost relaxing. Quite expensive (£54 for a full leg), but very much worth it.
