The Open Air Theatre's 2012 rep season of one musical ('Ragtime') and one Shakespeare comedy ('A Midsummer Night's Dream') is conservative programming by artistic director Timothy Sheader's standards - one suspects it was motivated by fear of slow Olympic year sales. Whatever the case, there's no London venue half so perfect for the Bard's fairy-filled 'Dream' as the twinkly fastness of the newly renovated Regent's Park theatre. Matthew Dunster directs the production, which stars Tamsin Carroll (Titania), David Birrell (Theseus) and Harry Hepple (Bottom).
