Simon Reade, former artistic director of the Bristol Old Vic, has been charged with bringing Austen's timelessly pertinent tale of the Bennet sisters, their impossible parents, and the frustrations of husband-hunting to the stage. It's the second production in another box office-friendly, but still artistically intriguing, Regent's Park programme from the theatre's artistic director Timothy Sheader. Jane Asher as Lady Catherine de Bourgh heads up a strong cast which also includes Jennifer Kirby as Elizabeth Bennet and David Oakes as Mr Darcy.
