The Alexandra Palace Fireworks and Drone Festival (as it’s now called) is easily one of the biggest, baddest displays in town. And this year, it's also the spookiest, as it falls right on Halloween weekend. So that means that its cutting-edge drone show will fill the night sky with glowing ghosts, vampires, demons and witches. But it’s not just what’s going on in the sky that’s the attraction here (although, with Ally Pally’s panoramic view of London, it is a fairly big pull).
Entertainment at Alexandra Palace Fireworks
There’s plenty more to see and do besides watchiing the fireoworks and drones. This year’s musical line-up features club classics reimagined by Ibiza Brass and a headline set from 90s garage legends DJ Luck and MC Neat, while additional entertainment includes ice skating, a massive bonfire, Halloween ghost tours of the Palace theatre, and an entire funfair.
There’s also the UK’s largest German beer festival in the Great Hall, where you’ll also find oompah bands and entertainment in the form of Taylor Swift tribute act, Fearlessly Taylor (Oct 31) and Dolly Parton tribute act The Dolly Show (Nov 1).
Food and drink at Alexandra Palace Fireworks
Spectators have plenty of options when it comes to staying fed and watered, with a more than 35 of London’s best street food traders, plus craft beer bars and cocktails available at the alfresco StrEATlife Village, while beer festival ticketholders can sink huge steins of pilsner while sampling some elite drunk food; think BBQ, burgers and bratwurst galore.
What time do Alexandra Palace Fireworks start?
The fireworks will begin at 9pm on Friday and 8pm on Saturday. Gates open several hours earlier, at 6pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday to allow visitors to check out the entertainment beforehand. The site closes at 10.30pm on both days.
