Back for a seventh year in 2015, Chorus Festival celebrates the power of singing alongside others and explores the health benefits of belting out a tune. Over 100 choirs are due to take part with thousands of singers warming up their vocal chords for concerts, workshops and debates taking place across the festival. Highlights include an intimate, interactive performance called 'HUG', devised by composer, performer and musical director Verity Standen which sees 25 audience members blindfolded, hugged and sung to by 25 performers (April 2-5). The James Taylor Quartet, Rochester Cathedral and a specially formed choir will premiere 'Rochester Mass' alongside a film piece by the award-winning Margherita Gramegna (April 6). Easter Sunday will see a host of guest stars from BBC's The Voice joined by a mass of singers and a live band, take to the stage of the Royal Festival Hall for Sing Out Sundays: a selection of popular songs arranged by Mark De-Lisser (April 5).
