As this is the festival of light, my partner and I turned up after dark only to be told that we couldn't get any of the delicious food on offer as they were closing (the stall owners didn't seem to mind but the festival guards were pretty pushy about no one getting served.) This was 6.30pm. It'd only been dark half an hour. We went on Time Outs recommendation but you didn't put an end time. We were really gutted as we'd been looking forward to it but specifically waited until after dark. So we watched the end of the concert and went home after a few minutes.

To mark the Festival of Lights, Trafalgar Square will be transformed with magical light displays, floating lanterns, food stalls, dance, music and devotional songs in a celebration marking a new beginning for Hindus, Sikhs and Jains around the world. Sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar, daughter of the legendary Ravi Shankar, who died last year, will play a set including tracks from her new album 'Traces of You'.
