Guests of the Nation - Belgian Refugees, the First World War and Redbridge

Just over a century ago several hundred Belgian refugees found homes in Ilford, Wanstead and Woodford. Many of them stayed at Valentines Mansion and this exhibition looking at what life was like for refugees in the area includes a recreation of one of their rooms.
