Time Out says

Enjoy the colourful, familiar pictures from Ladybird's much-loved educational books

The familiar little ladybird logo which sits on the cover of Britain's much-loved educational book series was first registered one hundred years ago in 2015. More than 120 colourful illustrations from classic Ladybird titles will be on display in celebration of the centenary, with rare photographs and correspondence to provide an insight into the books' production. Among the exhibits are drawings taken from series such as 'Shopping with Mother', 'Key Words' and 'Well Loved Tales'. If you pay close attention to the 'Nature' and 'Science' extracts you might even learn something, but at the very least the pictures will be a comforting dose of nostalgia.

Look out for a series of evening talks that accompany the exhibition, as well as a late opening on the last night of the exhibition (September 25). There's lots for families to do, too, including making cotton-spool snakes and balloons with feet in the Things to Make series (July 21-August 28, all ages, Tue-Sun 10am-6pm); Ladybird family workshops with a professional illustrator (every Wednesday in August, ages 5+, 2-5pm, £7, children £4 incl exhibition entry), and sessions on animation (Aug 11, £35) and cyanotyping (Aug 29, ages 5+, £7, children £4 incl exhibition entry, booking essential).
