This long weekend of fun aimed at younger visitors to the zoo is celebrating a very special centenary in 2014. A black bear called Winnie moved in 100 years ago this year, so the family festival will include events, activities and an exhibition themed around AA Milne's 'Winnie the Pooh' books, which were inspired by his visits with his son Christopher Robin to see the real-life Winnie. Children are encouraged to take their own favourite (stuffed) bears along and join the Teddy Bears' Picnic, and there'll be games on the lawn, craft sessions and nature workshops to keep kids as active as the animals. Book in advance.
