See, smell and sample treats from East Asia without leaving London.

Get a true taste of Malaysia in central London at this food-packed night market, which will take over Trafalgar Square for a sixth year in 2015. Around 60,000 people are expected to be drawn in by the stalls, cookery demonstrations, celebrity chefs and traditional entertainment.

Many of the UK's best Malaysian eateries will be offering up authentic, mouth-watering chicken curry, laksa (spicy noodle soup), pulled beef rendang, mee rebus (egg noodles in a sweet curry sauce) and sirap bandung (a colourful rose-flavoured drink). Once you've discovered your new favourite dish, learn the tricks that make it so tasty in live cookery demonstrations and pick up the ingredients you'll need to recreate it from the array of Malaysian producers.

If you ever want to learn about Malaysian food and culture, the annual Malaysia Night event in Trafalgar Square is a good place to start.  The food is very good and generally very good value for money as the portions are generous.  All elements of Malaysian culture are embarrassed from the Malay to the Chinese to the Indian to the Sri Lankan and there is something for everyone.
