The fan-run Nine Worlds Geekfest returns in 2016 and is a chance for those who love geek culture in general (and its many specifics) to meet like-minded fanatics away from the manic atmosphere of the corporate sci-fi expos. Gaming, film, cosplay, literature and science are all celebrated alongside science-fiction and fantasy, and guests and speakers will be available for chats rather than just impersonal autograph sessions. A few familiar actor-type faces are likely to make an appearance, but the extensive guest list consists mostly of novelists, screenwriters and academic experts.
