Squirrel Taxidermy Course

Time Out says

What's your take on squirrels? Cute critters? Incorrigible nickers of the food you put out for the birds? Tree rats with tails? If 'inspirational raw material for creative endeavour' seems like a reasonable answer, a taxidermy course at the Vintage Patisserie in Hackney could be right up your street. Covering skinning, cleaning, mounting and finishing, this beginners workshop provides a complete introduction to taxidermy – and the aim is to walk away with your own stuffed squirrel. If you're going for a natural look, all materials are provided (including the legally sourced squirrel which has either died of natural causes or pest control), but you're encouraged to take along props or accessories if you have a more individual style vision for your creation. Small class size ensures plenty of one-to-one teaching but it also means that you'll need to book up pronto. Taxidermy is the new knitting and, while there's no shortage of squirrels, workshops offering tuition are few and far between.
