This four-day sporting event will see 400 individuals from 14 different countries compete for gold in four different sporting categories at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. But it's different from every other sporting event we've enjoyed this year: every one of the competitors has been wounded, injured or suffered illness as a result of serving their country on military duty. The event is a chance to recognise the sacrifices of the participants and their families and to celebrate their drive to overcome some extreme physical challenges. Wheelchair basketball, archery, athletics and powerlifting are among the sports on the bill, and Prince Harry will launch the event. An all-star line-up of pop and rock performers – including The Foo Fighters and Ellie Goulding – has been announced for the closing concert on Sep 14.
