Horse Guards Parade is the large parade ground off Whitehall best known for the Changing of the Guard. It is also home to Trooping the Colour, which commemorates the Queen's official birthday each June, and the military ceremony of Beating Retreat.
For London 2012, it brings 15,000 fans to watch the Beach Volleyball - which might bring a smile to the lips of even the legendarily deadpan Horse Guards.
