Bull & Gate

The epitome of the backroom dive, this legendary pub venue is possibly the best place in the capital to catch unsigned acts. Nirvana and Blur are among those who stomped around on the Bull & Gate's stage before they made their names. The pub itself dates back to the seventeenth century and the cosy front room is equipped with a pool table and a top-notch jukebox stuffed full of indie classics (think The Fall and The Smiths). Expect to find groups with names such as Two Bear Mambo and Dancing With Henry performing at the Bull & Gate on any given night.
