Part of Paul Raymond's extensive Soho empire, this late-night cabaret/burlesque/drag/DJ club and live music venue has a long and colourful history. It specialises in - but by no means limits itself to - showcases from emerging major label acts, or successful overseas artists hoping to crack the UK. It's home (every Tuesday) to popular and reliably hip, live alternative music night White Heat and (every Thursday) superior cabaret showcase Bête Noire. Look out too for the terrific fortnightly Magic Night.

Almost a two hour drive to get there for a pre-booked table and meal only to be told lastminute.com hadn't sent on our booking to them. Right now I should be annoyed with lastminute.com, but when the staff said they were not surprised and that it happened often then you have to ask yourself why Madam JoJo’s are desperate enough to use the inept services of lastminute.com.
Some of the other reviews here sound like they’ve been written by fanboys/girls. I'm sure they had a great time, but my bad booking experience aside, some acts are good, some are not so good. Typical cabaret I guess. The venue is OK, but a bit small, certainly smaller than expected. Quite a few people were standing due to lack of seats so I recommend not pre booking, getting there early, and avoid the toilets as much as possible. I may go again, but I’m not planning it.

This is the most fantastic venue ever! Excellent staff and excellent vibe, not to mention fantastic music (especially Keb Darge and Andy Smith). The interior design is breathtaking too...I'd hardly call it sleazy!A real gem at the heart of Soho, thoroughly recommended
