Time Out says

4 out of 5 stars

This historic Hilton is a study in midcentury glamor, with luxury amenities and a celebrity-approved pool in the heart of Beverly Hills.

Home to a storied history of celeb guests and red-carpet events, the Beverly Hilton is every bit as glitzy as you’d hope. Warm lighting and gold details inside the column-laced lobby cast a glamorous glow over guests before they’ve even checked in. All rooms include upscale amenities like Egyptian cotton linens, Bose sound systems and bath products by L’Occitane en Provence. If you need to call down to room service for a salad or charcuterie plate, your room is equipped with a complimentary iPad loaded with guest service tools. After a long day of window shopping on Rodeo Drive, allow the onsite BABOR beauty spa to revitalize your senses with world-class wraps, scrubs and more. Sip cocktails by the pool and try to spot celebrities (though they may have enclosed themselves behind the hotel’s curtained private cabanas). A fitness center and two restaurants (both of which feature California-infused New American cuisine) round out the Hilton’s upscale offerings.

Location: Beverly Hills is exactly as chic as it looks on T.V. If you love big price tags and small dogs, it’s certainly a destination; if your ideal itinerary is more low-key, however, the neighborhood also happens to be well appointed with wide boulevards, lush palms and architecture as beautiful as the people.

Nearby:

Sotto: Whatever you’ve heard about Angelinos not eating carbs is a lie. Partake in pillowy Neapolitan pizza—elevated by a glass of wine and followed by a cannoli, naturally—at this intimate Italian eatery.

Spago: The flavors of California, Southern Europe and Japan mingle at this famed Beverly Hills eatery. If you can handle the hefty price tag, the California tasting menus offer expertly prepared renditions of local, seasonal ingredients.

Bouchon Bakery: Nowhere is pastry taken as seriously as it is at Thomas Keller’s famed Canon Drive bakery. Pick up a box of macarons or a fluffy-but- crisp croissant to nibble on while you shop nearby.

Spa Montage: If the Hilton’s facilities aren’t restorative enough for you, try the seriously relaxing Spa Montage. The underground spa paradise features 17 treatment rooms and a communal mineral pool in an opulent, Moorish-inspired space.

Good for: The Beverly Hilton’s delightful, almost kitschy ‘60s glamor are a particular draw for pals on a girls’ getaway, but the comfortable rooms, relaxing pool and proximity to the most lavish parts of Beverly Hills make this hotel a destination for upscale tourists and travelers of all kinds.

Amenities: Pool, hot tub, room service, minibar, restaurant, bar, shop, gym, laundry service, concierge, spa

Time Out tip: When booking, ask for the cabana rooms—they open directly onto the pool deck for easy access and prime people watching, especially as the space heats up with after-hours partying.
