Funny Food Art exhibit at Chelsea Market

The next time you’re perusing Chelsea Market for daily dinner inspiration, make sure to take the little ones: until the end of the month, the concourse will be home to the city’s goofiest—and tastiest—photography exhibit. Featuring the works of Bill and Claire Wurtzel, authors of Welcome Books' Funny Food: 365 Fun, Healthy, Silly, Creative Breakfasts, the 40 photographs of animals, cars, portraits, and even famous faces like Einstein and Mona Lisa (renamed “Plumalisa”) are made entirely out of nutritious grub. Expect to see a giraffe made out of a pineapple and a little girl with wild blonde hair that looks curiously like scrambled eggs. While they’re there, kids can poke their heads through a cut-out board and pretend to be the yummy characters themselves. Swing by Posman Books (inside Chelsea Market) to grab a copy of the Wurtzel’s book and make your kid’s friends jealous at lunchtime.

The Funny Food Art Exhibit is on view at Chelsea Market through May 31.
