Britney Spears Halloween Costumes

Reading parenting headlines without seeing a mention of Britney Spears is virtually impossible. Seriously, do a Google News search for "parenting" and the first item to pop up has to do with the pop tart. In case you're curious, her mother, Lynne Spears, has inked a deal with Christian book publisher Thomas Nelson Inc., to write a tell-all on raising a family in the tabloid spotlight.
All recent Britney gossip aside, the story got me thinking about something I saw at a decidedly adult Halloween party this weekend.
The most popular costumes by far were of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline. One woman even brought a doll with her and pretended to drop it throughout the evening, a la Britney almost dropping son Sean Preston on his head. In the office this morning, the web editor for Time Out New York showed off a new haircut. He, too, had gone as Kevin and had shaved a "K-Fed" design into his head.
I was rather bemused by how much Britney's audience has changed. Back when she was at the height of her career (read: before she shaved her head, tried to beat the paparazzi with an umbrella and just generally went a little nutty), it used to be the teens, tweens and some way-too-grown-up-for-their-own-good grade-schoolers who wanted to dress up as the pop tart for Halloween.
They still make "mega star" costumes for those "not that innocent" kids, but do you actually know any children who still like Miss Brit Brit? Any parents out there who'd let their kids go as her for Halloween now? Talk back below!
