Holiday shopping in New York is just not as fun without eyeing the festive department-store window displays. Because who doesn’t love a little eye candy during the spendiest time of year?

The good news is, window unveilings kick off tomorrow. From musical performances to special celebrity guests and oh, yeah, the displays, we’ve highlighted three stores that are bound to give you those warm, fuzzy feels.

Tomorrow from 5pm-7pm, head to Fifth Avenue for Lord & Taylor’s holiday reveal. This year’s special guest is former Jonas Brother (they’re still bros in real life) Nick Jonas. And it just so happens that this year marks the 100th Anniversary of the landmark, so Lord & Taylor has gone over the top. Using hydraulics and video wall technology, this year’s theme is “a journey through one’s imagination.” Think a snow-covered mansion, where every room uncovers a new adventure. So, you can let your mind run rampant until then.

Next week at Herald Square, Macy’s will be showcasing its display on Thursday, Nov 20 at 5pm. And this brand’s legendary windows are great for entertaining your little ones. The theme is called “Santa’s Journey to the Stars,” which is the story of Alex, a young boy who receives a magical telescope that allows him to experience Christmas on other planets. There will be six windows to view, plus an interactive game to play as you go.

Then on Monday, Nov 24, Bloomingdale’s will unwrap its holiday piece at 5pm with live performances by off-Broadway show iLuminate and (cue drum roll) Idina Menzel. She’ll be performing selections from her new holiday album and other favorites at Beacon Court, 59th St (between Third and Lexington Aves)—we can only hope that “Let it Go” from Disney’s Frozen, makes the cut.

And after you finish singing along with Menzel, check out the window featuring high-tech glass and games inspired by Bloomingdale’s Gift A Bow mascot powered by The Science Project. FYI: The flagship will be kicking things off early at 3pm, giving shoppers the opportunity to meet Idina Menzel and pick up a copy of her new album to be signed by the artists herself. Just make sure you're on the 3rd floor of the store before then.

So, in between shopping for festive knitwear and the latest tech gadgets for your loved ones, take a second to stop and ogle the displays. It may even make the Scroogiest New Yorker smile...a little.
