Although the East Village has a surfeit of reliable, fuss-free sushi joints, Hasaki is one of the originals. All of the fish is fresh, reasonably portioned and promptly served, whether you order à la carte or from among the entrée combos. Finish with the “syphon coffee for 3 cups,” (listed as a dessert and produced with an elaborate chemistry-set apparatus); it’s goofy fun, and the resulting drink is rich and delicious.
