I had a horrible experience with this salon! WHAT I ASKED FOR: I went for a haircut. I asked for LONG side swept bangs, (which I had before in the past and looked great at another salon). I asked for only 2 inches off. Which should have been mid-back. I told Nevila I like my hair soft and long. WHAT I GOT: The stylist parted my hair in the middle & gave me a mullet. Instead it is now shoulder length. That is about 5 inches off! During the whole process she was up-selling the hair-care products and obviously did not listen to my needs and wants. I left the salon upset. I started crying. Nevila knew I did not like the cut or style. I said it looked like a crispy and crunchy and that it looks like a Jerry curl. I said it is too short. She said I would eventually like it. No remedy was offered. NEXT DAY: I called the day after (March 13, 2013 at approximately 10 am) and said I was unhappy and to take me off their mailing list. Then they said they wanted me to come in to fix it. I said, “The stylist cut off enough. She cut off too much. How could that be fixed?” Every morning I cry before work because I don’t know what to do to hide my hair. A lot of bobby pins and a bun? No amount of washing can fix this. The hair products she used made my hair crispy, crunchy. The texture of my hair is no longer soft & I’m worried she put something permanent in my hair. I did not ask for anything permanent. How many biotin pills can I take to make my hair grow longer? The only remedy is to wait it out. I am so sad. I was given a mullet. I regret going to the Devachan salon because all they do is talk about their products during the cut, which is what the true sale is. It is not making your clients/customers happy, it is about selling your hair care products that make your hair texture very crunchy. I can’t do anything with it. I can’t stop crying. I would like a refund. I spent $80 on humiliation.

My very first experience at Devachan was last night. In SoHo. The stylist I had was a sweetheart. The cut and style made me cry for hours. I love soft, beautiful sexy hair and requested that. What I received was the opposite: a crispy, crunchy jerry curl. It was essentially Soul Glo. I spent a lot of money on disappointment. The crown of my head was shaped square. That is not a natural look. I wish I watched the videos on YouTube, every style is crispy with a square crown. There is no room for giving customers anything else. It is a carbon copy every time. I feel a lot of anger and hate for this place because a wasted a lot of money. I will never see that money ever again. I feel a lot of hate for this salon. I Wasted Money! I used to like my hair. Now have to wear it up and hope it grows out sooner than later. I am absolutely unhappy with the service I received. I will never want crispy hair products or a style like this ever in my lifetime. I paid a lot of money for humiliation.
